Users may always encounter issues like “how do I open a file in iMovie with enlargement of the MTS?” or “how do i download AVCHD (MTS files) in imovie9” come from time to time.

"I am looking for a good, easy and cheap application for my mac. I get sd cards with MTS files and want a app that can import them directly. I cant find any information if the latest version of iMovie supports importing MTS files from a SD card. Do you know a good alternative for iMovie to import mts, edit the video?"

As far as I know, if you have used the Archive method which saves the whole file structure of the camera onto your computer, you can achieve your goal smoothly. However, there is no way to import single .mts files to iMovie that you have previously transferred from the camera to your computer.

Under this circumstance, you need help of Brorsoft MTS Converter for Mac

It is an easy-to-use yet professional application for AVCHD camera/camcorders. The program supports various professinal encoders – Apple Intermediate Codec – ensuring maximum editing quality and efficiency when working with iMovie. It also has outputs for other non-linear editing systems, like Apple ProRes for FCP, DNxHD for Avid MC, MPEG-2 for Adobe Premiere, etc.

Tutorial: Edit single MTS files in iMovie

One: Drag&drop the AVCHD files into the program. Or you can click "Add" button to import the files you want to convert.

Two: Click "Format" bar to choose the output format. Click and choose iMovie and Final Cut Express -> Apple InterMediate Codec (AIC) (*.mov). It's the best format for editing M2TS/M2TS in iMovie 8/9/11.
